Like myself, many travel writers keep a travel blog. We do so for a variety of reasons. For me, it’s partly an outlet for previously published work and entries that I would be writing for my personal blog anyway. For others, it’s an outlet to express all the great and not so great things about travel that would not necessarily find a home elsewhere.
Continuing my promise to bring you the best of the travel blogosphere, here are some great blogs by professional travel writers. The list is not comprehensive and some blogs by professional travel writers will be listed in other categories but please do feel free to tell me of any omissions in the comments. I may need to do a part two as I know this is a big category.
- Wild About Travel + Writing, a travel blog by Australian travel writer and photographer Kim Wildman.
- Kiwi Writer, a New Zealand-focused travel blog. The author also has Write to Travel, which is more focused on the travel writing side of the equation.
- Cool Travel Guide, by travel writer Lara Dunston, currently based in Dubai.
- Travel Babel, by Colorado-based travel writer Claire Walter.
- Travelrat’s Travels, by travel writer Keith Kellett.
- To Zero and Back, by travel writer Nancy Bevilaqua.
- A Broad Abroad, by Oklahoma-based photo-journalist Elaine Warner.
Just came across your blog. Nice! I just started my own travel writer’s blog. Please come and visit, and happy travels.

Great list! I’ll be sure to check them out. Feel free to visit mine. While I’m not a “professional” writer, I am a hotelier with information to assist consumers.
