Travel blogs – Expat blogs

Continuing my round-up of great travel blogs, today’s theme is expat blogs.
Living abroad is a form of travelling, as Antonia notes on the Perceptive Travel blog. The more foreign the culture, the more true that is. On the other hand, the longer that you’ve lived in a place, the less true that is. I have discovered that there are hundreds, if not thousands, of expat blogs out there so I am not even going to try to be comprehensive.
Here are a few that I have encountered that seem to focus on the expat side of life (as opposed to simply being a personal blog by someone who happens to be an expat). I’ve only listed ones that are current – that is that the blogger is still an expatriate and still updating the blog.
- Petite Anglaise, by an Englishwoman living in Paris, who has earned a book deal out of her blog.
- Near and Far, a photographer who has lived in France and Sweden, and now lives in Korea.
- ChinaMusing, by an Alaskan woman living and teaching in China.
- Expat Harem, foreign women in Turkey.
- Expat-Experience, by an American in Switzerland.
- My Life Italian, by a Texan in Italy.
- Something to say: About life in the Netherlands, an American in Holland.
- Viajo porque debo, a ‘Norte Americana’ from California living in Mexico.
