Photo Friday: Nuts about sculpture

Kraków, Poland; August 2008

From the vantage of our lunch spot in Rynek Glowny, the main square in the historic Polish city of Kraków, this statue looked like a giant walnut. This had us somewhat puzzled – walnuts do grow in Poland but they are hardly a national symbol.

When you walk around the other side, it all becomes clear. It’s actually a sculpture of a giant head. You can even climb inside and stick your head out through the eyes for the compulsory silly tourist photograph. Not that we did that, of course.

This is part of Photo Friday, hosted at DeliciousBaby.
