Travel blog raffle raised $7,420 for Heifer International

PwP2The Passports with Purpose fundraiser has ended – though you can still make donations to Heifer International via the FirstGiving page.

Pam of Nerd’s Eye View, Beth of Wanderlust and Lipstick, Michelle of Wandermom and Debbie of Delicious Baby have been hard at work calculating who the prize winners are and contacting everybody. As of a few days ago they still had a few people to contact but I think that process is now complete.

Thanks to everyone who supported the raffle. It’s a fantastic cause and we exceeded our goal of $5,000 by nearly 50%. That’s thanks to all of you, all the participating bloggers, and particularly the hard work of our four organisers, without whom it would never have happened.

I’m delighted to announce that a felllow UK blogger, Heather from Heather on her Travels, is the winner of my prize. Heather wins a guidebook of her choice plus two copies of The Travel Book kindly donated by Lonely Planet. She has chosen the Lonely Planet: Syria and Lebanon (which happens to be co-authored by another travel blogger, Lara from Cool Travel Guide). Presumably we can look forward to some Middle East-themed posts from Heather at some point.

Sadly, I didn’t win a prize but we’re planning to do this again, so perhaps next year!
