Life has conspired against my best-laid blogging plans. I have some great posts in the pipeline – a fabulous Lebanese moussaka recipe from Nigella Lawson, my own homemade bright-pink vegie burgers, a review of Jamie’s Italian in Kingston, and the next country in the UN of Food challenge. However, I have been working full time for the past few weeks and trying to organise our wedding, which is coming up very soon in April, in my spare time. Please stay tuned and hopefully I’ll find some blogging time soon.
Before I forget, happy Australia Day, Burn’s Night (for last night) and Chinese New Year – take your pick! Meanwhile, congratulations are in order for the following food bloggers.
Firstly, we have the finalists for the 2009 Bloggies – you have until 2 February to cast your vote for the winner.
Finalists for Best Food Weblog:
- The Pioneer Woman Cooks
- Smitten Kitchen (also nominated for Best Photography and Best Designed)
- Cake Wrecks (also nominated for Best New Weblog)

Then there’s the Food Blog Awards on the Well Fed Network. Votes closed yesterday and winners should be announced soon. There are a lot of finalists, as you would expect given that it’s exclusively food blogs, there are 14 categories, and five finalists in each. I can’t list all 70 here but want to give a special shout-out to a few of my favourites that made the finals.
- Ezra Pound Cake
- Not Quite Nigella
- Food Stories by Helen Graves
- Word of Mouth
- Food Blogga
- The Perfect Pantry
Congratulations all – and happy reading!
Thankyou so much for the special mention-wow I feel so flattered!
Not Quite Nigella is an excellent blog. Did you see the blow by blow pictorial account of how to make haggis on Word of Mouth? Rather put me off eating it, I’m afraid.
Yes, I did. I didn’t read it as I really have no desire to eat haggis, let alone eat it! I guess the recipe was in honour of Burn’s Night! – Caitlin
