The countries I’ve been to are marked in red. The map doesn’t differentiate but I’ve actually lived in Australia, the UK, the US, Costa Rica, Guyana and Germany.

This is the map of the world with the countries I have visited in red. It looks particularly impressive because Russia, Canada and the United States take up so much of the globe. I’ve only actually been to Moscow but, bam, it looks like I’ve been all the way to Vladivostok!
I don’t “collect” countries so I haven’t included places I’ve only been to on transit, flying through an airport or stopping at a train station. I need to have spent at least a day sightseeing in order for it to count.
Hopefully I’ll be able to explore Central and South America a little more now that I’m going to be living in San Francisco. Time to brush up on my Spanish!
Oh Caitlin, how exciting! So, how long will you be living in SF before you move on?
I’m not sure – it’s a permanent transfer but it won’t be forever. The initial visa is for two years. By the way, I’ve only properly lived in Australia and the UK. The others were for a few months at a time: high school exchange student in Germany; volunteer work in Costa Rica and Guyana; summer camp counsellor in US. – Caitlin
You’ve been living in the UK all this time….and haven’t been to Ireland!!?? Outrageous!!!
I know, me bad! Doubly so since I have a friend there. My husband went with his brother so it’s not somewhere we’ve been together. I might make it over to see her before I go, depending on when I get my visa. In my defence, I note that you’ve only just been to New Zealand, despite living in/near Melbourne all your life (and I’ve never been either). – Caitlin.
Where have you been in Canada? Have you been to Vancouver?
I have indeed! In 1997 I caught the train across Canada – Vancouver, Jasper, Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City, Halifax. Then in 1999 I was in Toronto and Muskoka. – Caitlin.
