Travel blog 101 Holidays has a useful new feature for travellers – a series where travel writers recommend a hotel they would stay in themselves, with their own money. The rules are that the hotels must be under £150 ($250) a night for two people and the tip has to be written in the form of a tweet (under 140 characters).
I think this is such a great idea – I wish I’d thought of it first! There are some interesting recommendations so far, from the Pottery House on the shores of Loch Ness in Scotland to Le Gite d’Indaiatiba, a posada in Paraty, Brazil. There’s even a recommendation for Big Sur on the California coast where I’m headed tomorrow, so I’m seriously considering checking it out.
Here is my hotel recommendation – for a charming boutique hotel built into a cave in Cappadocia, Turkey. Not only was the hotel great, but it’s located in one of the most fascinating places I’ve ever been. It’s a strange almost Martian landscape dotted with “fairy chimneys” and riddled with caves and underground cities where ancient Christians hid from the marauding armies. I travelled to this region in 2007 and wrote about it for The Australian. You can read my article on Cappadocia right here on Roaming Tales.
I like the new feature, thank you.
There is also a site http:///www.darngooddigs.com that have a similar approach getting folks to recommend hotles under $150.

This is a great idea, I would trust their recommendations better than some others.
Too often I believe that people traveling go into their vacations tragically unprepared. It is informative blogs such as this and other dedicated travel writers that help those uninformed, become informed.
Thanks

The given information sounds very attractive! By reading the article, I am sure that in a place like this everyone can find something for themselves! For sure there are also many other similar places in the world and I will be very glad if everyone shares their travel experience. In this way it will be much easier for potential travelers to make their decision!
