San Francisco; June 2010
Colourful bus parked on John F. Kennedy Drive in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park on a warm summer’s day. I think the people on the front are cleaning the windscreen, but I’m not sure. What does it look like to you?
The bus looks very Northern California to me – very in tune with hippie culture. Of course, Golden Gate Park is not far from Haight Ashbury, one of the original centres of flower power.
It reminds me of this song, “If You’re Going to San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair)”…

Love the bus and the song. Oh and I love all the many generations of hippies still in Northern California ( many of them in Santa Cruz and Berkeley).

humm, for the sake of a good story, I want to think they’re doing something more subversive – like – changing the windshield wiper blades? It reminds me of the Partridge Family… the seventies were very good to many of us

What fun, how colourful and very hippy

Oh the good old hippie days. I recently saw a (usually very conservatively dressed) friend of mine in a tie-dyed shirt and realized we are headed for another revolution. At least I hope we are.
I gotta get me one them tie-dyed shirts

I’m not sure about the 70s being good to me, but the bus reminded me of the Partridge Family as well

I don’t remember much about the 1970s but I was born then, so I guess they were good to me too! Here’s a pic of my hippie mum and me back in the day. http://www.niltiac.net/2010/06/childhood-photo/
